Bee Haven Berry Farm is a great destination for those looking for a relaxing ride in the country. Nestled between the horses and cotton-fields, Bee Haven is home to 475 Rabbiteye blueberry plants, two dogs, 4 chickens and 5 cats. Of and, of course, us.
Please allow me to introduce ourselves. My name is Shawn and I tend to be the one to fix stuff around here. Old tractors constantly need love and I'm the one in charge of loving them.
My wife, Dawn, is the brains of this here operation, or at least I let her think so. I believe that Miss Dawn should truly be called Miss Bee-Haven as it was her idea to add bees to our fledgling blueberry empire. It just makes good sense that blueberries need pollination in order to thrive, and bees need pollen to make honey. So here's hoping there is as much synergy in all of that, as their is in my partnership with Miss Bee Haven.
I may have mentioned that we have 475 blueberry plants. Now I'll explain why we don't have 475 blueberry BUSHES. You see, we haven't opened for business quite yet, as these plants still need to be placed in their permanent home. That will happen early in 2019 while they are dormant. Then if all goes well with the well and the sour soil still remains somewhat acidic, there should be blueberries the size of muscadines for you by late spring of 2020.
We hope you will check back here from time to time and see how we progress.
Thank you, have a great day and please don't forget to Beehave yourself! :)
Hit us up right'cheer.
